Many of the reviewers are saying that the pump works great and that it is better than the one they replaced. A lot of the people reviewing this product were also happy that the pump has a timer on it so they do not have to manually turn it on and off. Several reviewers bought this pump because the pump that their pool came with was undersized and replacing the undersized pump with the Intex 1500 gph Pump worked out very well for them. A number of reviewers report being able to let the pump run for several days before they have to clean the filter.

Now for the not so great reviews — a number of people stated that this pump does not fit the older Intex pools despite the fact that it is recommended as a replacement pump for them. A number of reviewers also state that the Intex 1500 gph Pump is cheaply made and there were a number of people that were reporting a variety of problems. One person said that this pump worked great for two months and then the impeller disintegrated and Intex does not sell replacement impellers. There was more than one person that said they had purchased a new pump each year (one person, two years in a row and another person purchased three pumps in three years). If you don’t mind paying a low price for what could be considered a disposable pump you can take your chances and just buy a new pump before the beginning of the swimming season each year but it would be our recommendation to find a higher quality pump that doesn’t have the potential for so many issues.

The are a couple hundred reviews online for the Intex 2,500-Gallon Filter Pump, many of which are good but there are also some negative reviews out there. Most of the reviews we found were positive and a lot of people were very impressed with the performance of the pump. People were surprised at how much more suction the vacuum attachment was getting with this pump and many people are reporting dramatic differences after upgrading from a smaller pump.

A number of people that had smaller pumps reported that no matter how they try to clean the pool, their water was turning green because their pump simply couldn’t move enough water through the filter quickly enough. However, after upgrading to the Intex 2,500-Gallon Filter Pump and letting the pump run overnight, they woke up to a pool filled with crystal clear water.

Not all of the reviews were that positive though. One person installed the pump and said that it worked great for about 48 hours and then suddenly it lost suction. After returning the pump and getting another one the next one also seemed to give out after just 48 hours.

Another reviewer was unpleasantly surprised about how quickly the filter cartridges clogged up. If the filter cartridges are not kept clean the pump flow will decrease dramatically and this reviewer stated that the cartridges needed constant cleaning. A number of other reviewers were also quite disappointed with the manufacturer, saying that they were not supporting their product within the warranty period.

We found a handful of reviews online for the Pentair Intelliflo VS 3050 High Performance Pool Pump and all of the reviewers that we found gave this product extremely high marks.  Multiple reviewers were very surprised and happy with the energy savings they noticed after installing the Pentair IntelliFlo.  It certainly seems to live up to its claims of being far more energy-efficient than other pumps.

Many of the reviewers also commented on how quiet this pump is stating that even on its highest speed it is nearly silent, all you can hear is some water running through the pipes and a cooling fan to keep the pump’s motor cool.  This is a welcome change to anyone who has experienced the horrible sounds of a pool pump that is on its last legs.

After conducting extensive research we were able to find several dozen reviews for the Hayward Super Pump SP2610X15 1 1/2 Horse Power Pool Pump online.  The vast majority of the reviewers, well over 90%, gave this product their highest rating.  A number of reviewers stated that after looking high and low, searching not only websites but a lot of pool supply stores, once they found the Hayward Super Pump they found exactly what they were looking for.

Many of the reviewers installed this pump themselves and stated that the plumbing and electrical hookups were not very complicated.  The 1 1/2 hp motor does a great job of keeping the water moving which helps to keep the water crystal clear.  The Hayward Super Pump is a single speed pump and one reviewer stated that they had reservations about going to a single speed pump after using a two speed pump for a number of years.  They stated that the two speed pump was running 24 hours a day, approximately 10 hours on high speed and 14 hours on low speed.  The single speed Hayward Super Pump SP2610X15 1 1/2 Horse Power Pool Pump does a better job than the old pump and it only runs 10 hours a day and is off for the remaining 14 hours which saves quite a bit of electricity.
